The Barnsley, Dearne & Dove Canals trust is working in partnership to reinstate the two derelict canals which form the missing Yorkshire Waterways link between the river Calder at Wakefield and the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation at Swinton.

The hope is to restore of Chesterfield Canal from Staveley to Killamarsh and from Killamarsh to Kiveton park more info

The Chesterfield Canal Trust's appeal for 300,000 to build a brand new Staveley Town Lock got off to a good start with 900 raised at Kiveton Park IWA and 800 donated by Retford & Workshop Boat Club

The Costwold Canal Trust aims is to reopen the Stroudwater Canal and the Thames and Severn Canal canal, collectively known as "the Cotswold Canals", from Stonehouse to Brimscombe thus achieving the complete restoration of both canals as a navigable route from Saul Junction near Gloucester to the River Thames. more info

There are plans to restore the Cromford canal from Langley Mill to Cromford and Pinxton. more info.

The Dudley Canal Trust have been restoring the Dudley tunnel, limestone mines, adjacent canals & infrastructure since the 1960's & now take in excess of 80,000 passengers into the tunnel & limestone mine systems more info.

The Lancaster Canal Trust aims to restore the Tewitfield Locks to enable a link through to Kendal - blocked by the M6 at present. more info.

The aim is to achieve full restoration of Lichfield and Hatherton Canals is taking place - David Suchet is one of their supporters and is the Vice President. more info

The Duchess of Cornwall officially declared Double Bridge on the Wiltshire & Berkshire Canal at a ceremony that marked completion of a 3-year volunteer restoration which rescued the bridge from a state of near-collapse.

Plans for a new navigation to link the River Clyde to Loch Lomond have been given approval by the local authority and has also been set a timetable.
